Just within the past few days, we’ve gained two new additions to Houston’s bustling craft brewery scene, Local Group and Urban South – HTX. To boot (sorry, I may have rodeo on my mind), they are located in two of my favorite neighborhoods, the Near Northside and Arts District Houston, respectively. If you are a fan of craft beer and good food, I would highly recommend adding these to your list of new places to visit!
Local Group
- Opened on February 28
- Located at 1504 Chapman St. 77009 next to the future Hardy Yards development
- Opening with 4 small-batch craft beers on tap and a full menu of elevated American comfort food with a focus on quality. Additionally, they will have cold-brew coffee, wine, cider and sodas with new brews rolling out in the coming weeks.
- The brewery will feature a dog friendly patio with a great view of Downtown Houston. It will also have a walk up window for easy service to the patio.
Urban South – HTX
- Opened on February 29
- Located at 1201 Oliver St. 77007 in Sawyer Yards
- This is an R&D brewery and Taproom for Urban South Brewery in New Orleans, Louisiana. The HTX location is going to “focus on pushing the boundaries of American beer.”
